Mount Meru Trekking Overview

Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second-highest mountain and one of the best trekking adventures near Arusha. Located inside Arusha National Park, the climb combines mountain scenery, forest trails, wildlife viewing and dramatic crater views.

Many climbers use Mount Meru as preparation for Kilimanjaro, but it is also a rewarding adventure on its own.

Adventure tip: Mount Meru is steeper than many people expect, but it is quieter and more wildlife-rich than Kilimanjaro.

Mount Meru Route
