Why Visit Saadani National Park?

Saadani National Park sits directly on Tanzania's coast north of Dar es Salaam, making it the only park in the country where you can watch elephants, lions and buffalo roam within sight of the Indian Ocean. Most Tanzania safari tours require a separate flight or long drive to reach the coast after a safari - Saadani removes that trade-off entirely.

The park protects both savanna wildlife along its inland plains and a stretch of undeveloped beach, with the Wami River supporting hippos, crocodiles and rich birdlife between the two. It is managed by the Tanzania National Parks Authority, which oversees the park's dual coastal-savanna ecosystem.
